I don't recall when the show entered my consciousness, but the first episode I remember watching (with my parents, a rerun in the early '70s) was "Miri." I thought it was scary, although this gif doesn't really convey the frighteningness.

Right now, if someone asked me if they should study law, I'd advise them to instead study something real, something that actually exists, like literature. Or ghosts.

I'm sympathetic to certain accusations of "war crimes," but I think there's no war, and I'm wondering whether what's going on is too small-scale to be "crimes against humanity." I'm rusty on Int'l Law. But my inclination is to say that certain parties have done and are doing crimes against humanity.

I don’t buy it that these newly critical GOP members of Congress suddenly had a Dude Lebowski “New shit has come to light, man!” moment regarding Hegseth, the Department of W(h)a(teve)r, and astoundingly illegal strikes on boats in the Caribbean.

I listened to the arguments in the tariffs case. Everyone knows the one. As usual, I was hung up for about the first five minutes about how they always call the Solicitor General "General," as if it's a military position. I will never be able to accept that tradition.
