Remembering the singular badass Lance Hahn, who left us on October 21, 2007
Now that A CHINESE GHOST STORY I & II are on the Austin Film Society calendar I am feeling emboldened to pitch my double feature idea: GOD OF GAMBLERS (1989) and THE GOD OF COOKERY (1996)
It was the perfect weight and in an absolute stroke of genius someone designed it in the style of a bathrobe so there weren’t a million weird ties to fool with. And the belt tie was stitched on in a couple of spots on the back. I should have taken a selfie so attired!

STEREO 8 (1983) As the popularity of eight-tracks begins to wane, a retired artist (Bo Svenson) and his old flame (Mary Woronov) search for tapes bearing his cover art. Their quest takes them to the lair of a reclusive audiophile with a sinister secret. Widely known for its ‘unlistenable’ soundtrack
