East coast water quality hugely improved - EA. Surfers Against Sewage - classifications dangerously out of touch with reality & regs stuck in past. Excellent rating is meaningless if sites tested only once a week/ couple of months a year/for only a handful of pollutants

The Office for Environmental Protection says stronger, statutory targets are needed for protected sites. We agree.

Yet the Government’s revised “Environmental Improvement Plan”, published earlier this week, did the opposite: weakening targets & slowing the action nature needs.
