A Declaration for the People of the United States When a government becomes destructive to the liberty, dignity, and survival of its people, it is not only the right but the duty of the people to demand change, to dissolve corrupted systems, and to rebuild in the name of freedom and justice. We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all people, regardless of race, gender, wealth, disability, identity, or origin, are born free and equal in dignity and rights. That governments exist only by the consent of the governed, and their only legitimate purpose is to protect the safety, liberty, and well-being of the people. That when a government becomes abusive, rigged, violent, or indifferent, the people have the right to change or abolish it. Such is now the condition of these United States. The federal government, in concert with corrupted institutions and corporate powers, has: • Placed profit and power above human lives • Sold public trust to the highest bidder • Allowed billionaires to shape policy while millions suffer • Turned health care into a privilege instead of a right • Allowed climate catastrophe to accelerate unchecked • Gutted protections for workers while criminalizing poverty • Attacked bodily autonomy, especially targeting women and transgender people • Denied equal justice under the law based on race, class, and gender • Militarized law enforcement while defunding the public good • Suppressed votes, sabotaged democracy, and ignored the popular will • Let vital infrastructure decay while funneling wealth upward • And used fear, division, and propaganda to silence dissent At every stage of these oppressions, people have raised their voices in protest, in courtrooms, on ballots, in the streets.
