I don't care who y'are, the opening title sequence in 'Sherlock Holmes' (Downey/Law version) is fun as anything. Just sheer delightfulness.

TBH, this stolen wallet thing could've been much worse:
- both banks sent alerts immediately after the first charges
- both banks made it easy to lock/replace cards
- getting new drivers license at DMV took maybe 20 minutes
- getting new corporate Orca card took about 45 seconds

A+ to all

I've been pretty chill about the whole stolen wallet business, but I'm in that limbo between fraud charges posted and fraud charges reversed, soooo groceries might be more of an intention than a reality this weekend, which is neat.

Heeeey just what I was looking for, an excuse to call out of work... to get all my cards replaced because my wallet was stolen. 🙄

Whoever it was only used my cards to get food, so. I'm not mad. Just annoyed my Charlie's Queer Books gift card was in there.

So yeah I wrote some brutal reviews on Goodreads, but this one of American Gods in 2022 turned out to be... relevant:

'I wasn't expecting a book with a higher number of described breasts than actual female characters.'

OKAY bonus day off work, LET'S DANCE

(I'm not going to Do All The Things, that's a silly goal. I'm going to do some of the important things. Yep. Super really am.)

Just spent 15 minutes being increasingly frustrated by trying to find an error popping up a new code.... and the solution ended up being adding one underscore.

HARRUMPH.

Don't really have a point, just feeling cross about it.

My favorite part of the TRON: Legacy soundtrack is still that you can hear the horn players breathing. So real. 😍

Is it silly? Yes. Has it helped me keep my shit together for an entire year? Also yes. #finch

I had thought I had one more place to query this book, but then I had happy hour with a dear friend and got all fired up about DAMN THE MAN not bothering with the big 6

And apparently they're walking back their barely-left-of-center content anyway.

Fuck 'em.

I seem to be sleeping only in 4 hour intervals through my 40s. It's deeply annoying.

'home' is such an interesting concept here, but anyway the mighty Columbia ❤️

(my current- and home-town is nowhere near the Columbia, but she's the river of my heart)
My favorite Twitter prompt was "RT this with your home river," so reskeet this with your home river.

Mine is the Patuxent.

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

First-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transition
Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.

Go make something badly. It'll still be fun. 🧶🧵
