My parents never sharpened a kitchen knife in their lives and maybe replaced one every decade. My Dad was really good at putting an edge on blades, too. He could make a pocketknife absolutely, frighteningly razor sharp.

One of my most hated tropes is when a protagonist falls into a body of water, blacks out and wakes up miraculously closer to their objective. (Moana gets a pass because the ocean did this to help her)

I’m kinda glad tongue hasn’t caught on like ox-tail and beef cheeks. With even mediocre prep it has a lot of the same texture and flavor as brisket.
