My 2 favourite books are "The Last Valley" by Martin Windrow and "A Savage War of Peace: Algeria 1954-1962 by Alistair Horne. Keen interest in history of Northern Ireland during the Troubles, Falklands war and the battle of Rourke's Drift.

Shit floats to the top most of the time in politics. Look at Albanese, Marles, Plibersek, Wong, Watt - all fucking useless. Chalmers is the only hope.
This is a good lesson for Australia. If you can't do anything in a 3 year term, you can't do it in 4, or apparently 5. The problem is not the term length, the problem is the culture and incompetence of the politics of the people who rise to the top in our parties.

Once again I am stunned by the ignorance of the ordinary British voter. Indian soldiers have served alongside their British counterparts in every major conflict from the first Anglo-Afghan war in 1838, at Gallipoli in 1914, to Burma in 1945. Without Indian troops in the ranks Britain loses WW2.
