“Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Canada are sending troops to Greenland amid continued threats from U.S. President Donald Trump to annex the territory, multiple outlets reported.”

Good.
Germany, other NATO allies sending troops to Greenland amid Trump threats
Trump said Wednesday that anything less than U.S. control of Greenland would be "unacceptable" in a warning to NATO allies.

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.

You could be next.

We evacuated our kids out of Minneapolis this weekend and my spouse reports that as she drove them out of town she saw "multiple freeway exits where people are being pulled over." It feels like the Twin Cities is being subjugated by a hostile occupying force.

I have been as impressed by the normal people of this country as I have been disgusted by elite institutions and every bit of optimism I have that we are going to make it comes from that
It's incredibly demoralizing to constantly see the highest institutions of government and academia and the most important and widely seen news outlets knuckle under one after another, but then to see the gulf between that and the bravery of communities and neighbors and teachers - that's something

I honestly don’t think there’s a single figure in American history who has fundamentally shifted the way I understand the world I live in more radically than Fred Hampton. once you know the story you can’t un-know it and you see it repeated everywhere
The FEDS drugged and shot Fred Hampton in bed.

Philly cops blew up a building in the 1980s and most people don't even know the MOVE bombing happened.

I think you're downplaying how normalized US death is.
If the DEA had killed 80 innocent Americans in the course of apprehending one drug dealer, there would be riots. But we are so ghoulishly indifferent to the lives and humanity of people abroad that it's barely even part of the conversation.

Venezuela’s ruling clique is best understood as a network of interests (party, military, colectivos) that Maduro held together. So far what’s keeping the chavistas united is a mix of threats and promises of profit sharing by the US. So Trump is taking on the same role that Maduro had.
