There is a local long term care home in town that has asked staff to complete a survey about sick time. Apparently it more than doubled from 2019 to 2024. Hmmmm, what a mystery!

Reading this thread, I’m left aghast - again - that this is the company (OpenAI) and the technology that so many in education seem to be embracing as the future of education.
The empires of AI may not be engaged in the same overt violence and brutality. But they, too, seize & extract resources, from the personal data of billions of people online to the land, energy, and water required to house and run massive data centers. 9/

The 8yo had a really tough day yesterday so last night we played with chalk outside. It reminded me of things we did in spring 2020.

I’m comfortably sitting on my porch after a run, the snow is almost all gone from the yard, birds are chirping, it’s almost 6 and there is still light in the sky. The world may be a dumpster fire but spring is still coming.

Do this now: Check if your university / college participates in UniForum. It might seem like a simple "benchmarking" initiative or a survey, but actually appears is an initiative run by a shady management consultant firm, resulting in million dollar contracts and the shuttering of programs.
#academicsky, if you're worried about your unis hiring consultancy firms like Nous, which have amassed up to a 70% profit margin, start by seeing if you all are subscribing to "Uniforum." It all starts with a survey. York, u of c, dal, Queen's, u of guelph, McMaster, u of , SFU and ubc is on it. /1
