A new all-electric double-decker Climate Stripes bus has started taking passengers around Reading today.

The bus shows the warming stripes for Reading back to the 1860s and will hopefully help start climate conversations amongst passengers.

It was a tough decision, lots of really good submissions. I’m mostly very happy with where we landed. Enjoy! - & tell me if you think I have terrible taste.
This year's Climate Fiction Prize longlist looks great. Read all of last year's list, haven't read any of these yet. Time to get stuck in.

I’m pleased to share my latest article in @uk.theconversation.com

It asks what overheated apartments, flooded rice fields, & invisible policy failures have in common, & how preventable harm becomes the slow violence of necropolitics in the Chthulucene.

Here's a short thread on some key points 🧵

The Trump administration formally withdrew federal guidance that required pharmacies to dispense methotrexate. Chronically ill people may face more challenges in getting this drug for their health. My latest for @motherjones.com. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Misoprostol and methotrexate do more than end pregnancies—but anti-abortion pharmacists can now refuse to offer them and still get federal funds.

Long before the advent of Grok, online sexualised & violent trolling afforded men a gift like they hadn't had in millennia: an omnipresent tool to make the implicit threat of sexual violence that disciplines women in patriarchy explicit, so that no woman anywhere feels secure from its sanction.
This use of Grok isn't personal perversion but political terrorism: it's designed to silence women, make us retreat from public life.

Exemplified by the digital desecration of the body of Renee Good: someone prompted Grok to deepfake a bikini on her corpse.

"You're next" is the message to women.

I'm so sad that the last time Labour lifted children or of poverty it was popular, & this time it's seen as toxic. 15 years of austerity rhetoric have really made a difference to the national character.
Important piece from the Prime Minister.

Today, Labour introduces legislation to scrap the two child limit and pave the way for the largest reduction in child poverty in a single parliament.

A pro-learning, anti-poverty policy that backs working families.
