Anyone been to Ottawa for vacation? We were thinking about Scotland, but flights are so expensive so new plan might be Montreal and Ottawa since it is only a 6 hour drive each way.

Neither of us have been to either city, love visiting libraries, crypts, coffee shops w/cinnamon rolls, and museums

I really appreciate that the place we get our tree from hangs them up so we can see what it looks like relaxed and from all around.

Eric only tried to kill me accidentally once while we were putting it up so that is also a bonus lol.

Now onto writing MOAR PAPER

Apparently the Scottish invasion is starting for World Cup next year. Pity the lads who think Gilette is actually IN Boston and don't realize that its a commuter train ride away lol

However, I could post up at a bar and watch people get confused by their accents so that will be fun

76 footnotes, 4678 words, and 20 pages later...I think paper one is done.

I probably over cite, but better to do that than not

Not that I'll choose to afford tickets in general (or want to deal with Rt 1 traffic, jfc its going to be a mess)...but I would love to go to the Norway/France game. Two ancestral countries, two places I've been, and Mbappé.
World Cup Matches at Gillette Stadium:

Scotland v Haiti (June 13)

Norway v winner of Iraq v Bolivia or Suriname (June 16)

Scotland v Morocco (June 19)

England v Ghana (June 23)

Norway v France (June 24)

This is complete and utter bullshit. These individuals have been tested, vetted, and approved. They deserve the ceremony which is the literal last step to gain citizenship. Faneuil Hall has had these ceremonies almost non-stop for decades including through actual war.

Immigrants kept from Faneuil Hall citizenship ceremony as feds crackdown nationwide
Trump administration is pausing naturalizations for immigrants from 19 countries.

Plan for today is to go to work, finish the last two sections for my paper for my Jim Crow class and then attack this Enviro history paper.

I have a great grade up to this point in both classes so I will be fine but damn, writing is physical and emotional work.

Woot! Husband just found out that he passed his National Board Certification!

So, an article in 2019 claimed that there were statues of 7 women in Boston. Abigail Adams, Lucy Stone, Mary Dyer, Harriet Tubman, Philis Wheatley, Ann Hutchinson are the ones that I came up with.

Does the Madonna in Eastie count? What about the women in the Irish Famine statue? @universalhub.com

Let’s make this very clear—as rangers we DO NOT CARE where you come from to enjoy the parks. We care that you have a good time, are safe, and hopefully learn something along the way.

We know you’ve seen the designs for the 2026 America the Beautiful pass, aka the “national parks pass.” Gross, right? 🤢

Know what’s even more gross? Asking rangers to determine who is “American enough” to pay the lower cost to enter the parks.

What is everyone getting their mom for winter holidays? I asked mine what she wanted and she didn't tell me anything useful lol

She's in her 70s, stays home a lot, and hates perfume. Maybe I'll just get her a bunch of scratch tickets.

This is the most horrific trophy I’ve ever seen. It looks like a cursed object found in a desert crypt.

Super excited to see the Fleet play at the Garden and especially for the price I got. $77 for 2 tickets for a professional hockey game in Boston? Excellent

I stopped using Spotify years ago when their stupid practices were first made known. I also don't need to know how many times I hear the same song...the stats-ification of our lives is getting a bit too much overall
Spotify has laid off thousands in recent years, while reportedly paying artists $0.003 per stream.

Spotify profits rose 28% in Q3. Its CEO is worth $9.8 billion. It's making money off ICE recruitment ads.

Don't you think it's time put a wrap on corporate greed and exploitation?

I wasn't around but I love this photo so much and all the protest signs. The People's Revolution is never talked about and it really should be as it carries forward the spirit of revolution and agitation started well before 1776 in Boston. Could use another one #parkchat
