One of my favorite things about France is the incredible biking infrastructure.

It truly feels like you can go anywhere via bike. We went from town to town around a 25 mile trip around the lake and it was blissful, beautiful, and I could get used to this.

My favorite fact about the NYC subway is that there are way more daily riders (about 4 million) than the number of people who fly in the US out of all airports every day (~2.5 million). The scale is hard to get a grasp on.
Max capacity passengers per hour:
* Boring Co’s Vegas Loop: 4,500
* NYC subway 6 train: 105,000

Adding to this list: who had been organizing BLM bail outs since before covid? Organizing against police militarization (Cop City) / inhumane jails?

Please send a quick email TODAY to [email protected] urging them to fully fund the Spirit Trail. This is a huge gap in the North Van cycling network, leaving no safe way for car-free families like mine to get to Deep Cove, Cates Park, and other parts of the region. You don't need to be a DNV resident!
TAKE ACTION! The @nvandistrict.bsky.social may cut the Spirit Trail extension budget from $20M to $15M, ending it at Parkgate instead of reaching Deep Cove. In 2023, DNV committed to this long-planned and much-needed project. 1/

I'm *so* excited to be working on a project this year to explore how rural communities can help deliver cycling and walking paths near them. So many people want safe active paths, but so much is stacked against them. I want to learn how communities defy the status quo, so others can learn from them.

On this day, 100 yrs ago, cars were given priority over pedestrians in the streets of the US.

It began Jan. 24, 1925, when the 1st "jaywalker" was arrested in Los Angeles.

Until then, it had been a city of walkers, with an extensive street railway network.

Victim shaming started right away...

"About two thirds of Americans are fed up with political polarization and wish people would spend more time listening to one another, according to the nonpartisan organization More in Common, which labeled this group the “exhausted majority.”
Also, on @hankgreen.bsky.social's recommendation, I decided to grab 'High Conflict' and give it a read to try and understand how we've become so extreme in our debate discourse today and what can be done to lower the temperature.

Our cities constantly fail wheelchair users. Here are just some ways:

*No level boarding for transit
*No elevators in metro stops
*Crumbling sidewalks
*No sidewalk
*Trash cans & parked cars on sidewalk (cities so nothing about)
*Unshoveled sidewalks

How does your city fail?
Travelling with a wheelchair is still a nightmare in 2025 & nothing much has changed in decades. It's all about profit. Only making train/bus/airlines legally obligated will work.

The Trump circus dominates the news.

But there’s other events happening too - in countries where people are rising up against governments, fighting for democracy & accountability.

These photos are from Serbia & Georgia today. Capital cities brought to a standstill 🇷🇸🇬🇪
