Labour splitting the vote. Should have done the decent thing and stood down

🌍 GRN: 27.6% (+16.2)
🌳 CON: 21.8% (-11.8)

The Greens will win in Gorton and Denton.

Showing that Reform aren't unbeatable and that Labour are dead.

You are welcome to disagree but I personally want people with this level of empathy, compassion and kindness in charge our lives, welfare and country.

Great episode with Zack Polanski and Hannah Spencer.

How extraordinarily fortunate for Wes Streeting that the only text messages he sent Peter Mandelson just happened to be exactly the sort of things other Labour MPs want to hear from a potential leadership candidate

If I was in the curling I would simply use those brooms to push the stones to exactly where I wanted them. Haven't seen a single person utilise this. A missed opportunity.

arguably the biggest news of the week that Lisa Nandy is currently doing something related to her brief
Only three cabinet ministers have not Tweeted or put out a message of support for Starmer:

Wes Streeting
Shabana Mahmood
Lisa Nandy (who is at the Winter Olympics)

This could of course change, but it's where we're at just before 3:30pm

I'm no political strategist but has anyone in Labour considered *not* alienating any huge chunk of their base? I just feel like they tried alienating the left and the centre left and the public sector workers and the academics, and none of those things worked great, so maybe give my idea a whirl?

Labour MPs on the news rounds over the next week who spent last week defending Morgan McSweeney:

Morgan has done the right thing and it's time to move on.

This is why Labour has no credibility.

people on here will tweet anything. "Al Carns is a potential Labour leadership dark horse". No he isn't. That isn't true.

It is genuinely wild to see political journalists running defence for Labour's anti-democratic 2024 candidate selection operation which we know we used to purge left wing progressives.

We know that! It was done openly!

To try and re-write that history now is the job of No.10 PR, not journalists.

I’m happy to say Starmer’s government (& all Labour MPs just keeping their heads down) are evil. If demonising, ostracising, oppression and endangering of people doesn’t convince you. Or the destruction of the environment for profit, then ensuring animal cruelty continues unquestioned, won’t either
So the Govt has got their way and animal testing is now classified as "key national infrastructure" in the UK. Sickening. They've done this purely to prevent effective campaigning against animal testing.

Quite funny that Starmer's allies are waking up to this point now …

Cuts to Winter Fuel… not in the manifesto
Disability benefit cuts… not in there either
Cutting jury trials… also not there
Digital ID… no mention
Raising employers NI… nope
Freezing tax threholds… nah
Contracts with Palantir… no

Labour is briefing that they know they won't win the Gorton and Denton by election.

The Greens are favourites and are the only party that can stop Reform.

Lower bills, tax the rich, protect the NHS. We will win.
