Turns out the head of comms for Reform called me a c**t.

It's not often I agree with them but fair play they were bang on money with this one.

The refuckers are between 2 stools here. If they don't appoint a 'Welsh leader' they'll rightly be slagged off, but they can't appoint one as they haven't got any members in Cymru (or anywhere) who aren't on the Kremlin payroll. I wonder if they get an invite to the staff Xmas party in Red Square?

Leaked messages show that Reform UK’s director of comms branded a prominent Welsh journalist a c**t for asking questions about why the party wouldn’t appoint a Welsh leader ahead of the Senedd election

It was proposed as a day 1 right but with an undefined 9 month probation period where a ‘lighter touch’ process would have applied. Good luck litigating that.
Now, it’s 6 months with the same procedure for all which seems far more workable.
This would not be my battle of choice against Labour.

I see Farage now hates emigration as well as immigration. The trouble is, he’s a big part of why people are emigrating. Brexit has made the U.K. a less attractive place for everyone.

The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

Tory immigration policy - ruinous, prejudiced madness.
Tory Brexit ideology - ruinous, prejudiced madness.

Why Labour is killing itself and the country to try to soothe the unsoothable rightwing media is beyond me. Tell the goddam truth. Publish the damage. Only then can you start to fix it.

- A 100,000 drop in net migration costs us £7bn
- Scrapping the two-child benefit cap costs us £3bn

What gets more attention?

Quick analysis of The Times today:
Wall to wall negative coverage of Labour’s budget. An editorial that tuts about lack of growth but takes no responsibility. And a double page ad to join Farage/Reform.
Absolutely no analysis on how rightwing ideology - including Brexit - has been utterly ruinous.

Finally got round to giving @benansell.bsky.social's latest. It's also one of his very best - especially if you want to understand the extent to which Reform voters (often talked of as 'the people' and, apparently therefore, representative of all UK voters) are real outliers, culturally-speaking.

Time for honesty about migration? #NomadCentury
Today we’ll get latest net immigration figures - They’ll show immigration for work is plummeting.

Why is this not part of the discussion on Rachel Reeves balancing her books & stalled growth?

For every 100,000 drop in net immigration, the OBR adds £7bn to the deficit. #r4today
