Imagine how inhumanely you must view these people in order to be part of a team that separates this five-year-old and then ships him parentless to Texas within hours.

This is not about law enforcement.

I hope this turns out to be true.
This is one thing that's different from prior fights against fascist takeovers: Every citizen has a camera. Maybe if the fascist oppression will be televised, that will change things. Much harder to pretend you don't know what's happening when it's going viral all around you.

This is not a sane use of US federal law enforcement resources.
The Star Tribune had an insane graphic about the presence of immigration enforcement in Minneapolis. There are more immigration officers in the metro right now than local police officers.

Kleptocracy, plain and simple. He realizes no one will hold him accountable.
The main bank account holding revenue from the Venezuelan oil sales is located in Qatar.

“There is no basis in law for a president to set up an offshore account that he controls so that he can sell assets seized by the American military,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

It goes without saying that in the US you’re not supposed to have a masked secret police that snatches people off the streets without knowing if they’ve committed a crime. That’s about as basic a requirement for a democracy as exists.
Having seen several abductions up close, it is really hard to convey how much the thing they’re doing is roaming in military convoys until they see someone who is alone and isn’t white, and then jumping out in large numbers, pulling them into a van, and screeching off, all in 90 seconds or so.
"“They specifically asked me if I knew where the Hmong families lived on my street & in the neighborhood.” Lugert-Thom responded, “I don’t know anything about that” & she said they then asked, “Well, what about the Asian families?”"

"“I was a bit shaken & a bit shocked of what I was asked to do.”"

This pinpoints MAGA's goal: to carve out a separate legal sphere and reality for regime loyalists at the expense of the rights and the lives of the rest of us. Not hypocrisy, but an Orwellian undertaking to sow disarray and seize power through brute force. exoprophet.substack.com/p/maga-is-no...

“Nice Federal Reserve you got there. Would be a shame if anything happened to it.”

— the GOP’s official talking point.
Sen. Kevin Cramer: "Maybe the point should be if you're the attorney for Jay Powell and you want to avoid an indictment, how about you go to Jeanine Pirro and say, 'I'll make a deal. I'll step down today if you drop the investigation today.' To me, that would be a win win for everybody."

The message from the White House this morning is that, once again, it falls on ordinary American citizens to remain calm and professional when dealing with the heavily armed agents of the government because they are very emotional and might fly off into a murderous rage at the slightest insult.

We should send more presidents to prison. In the five years since January 6th, two other democracies both faced their own version of insurrectionists attempting to overturn elections. Both countries handled it better — and more definitively — than we did. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/five-ways-...
