Great job by the senate😡
A legislative package that appears on track to end the longest government shutdown in US history leaves out any clear resolution on the expiring ACA tax credits that will make private health insurance unaffordable for millions of Americans. apnews.com/article/gove...
Senate approves bill to end the shutdown, sending it to the House
The Senate has passed legislation to reopen the government, bringing the longest shutdown in history closer to an end after a small group of Democrats struck a deal with Republicans.

Our city is home to so many men and women who served our country during the Vietnam War.

When they returned home, too many did not receive the honor and recognition they earned.

I was proud to host a pinning ceremony to pay tribute to their service.

Democrats, stop being upset at 8 Dems who voted to open our Government. House Republicans (Johnson) will remove ACA/Medicaid from the CR!Being upset at these Dems doesn’t even matter.
Senate Republicans could have said yes to passing the ACA - it still had to go back to Johnson.

So he’s running a….Ponzi scheme???
So he’s saying all the tariff money we took in is gone and we won’t be able to pay it back. There was always a possibility he could lose this lawsuit and have to refund the tariff money. We didn’t prepare for that possibility? He’s running the govt like he ran his casinos.

It’s easy for him to say since he probably hasn’t bought something like a normal person in decades.
INGRAHAM: Is affordability a voter perception issue of the economy, or is there more that needs to be done by Republicans?

TRUMP: More than anything else, it's a con job by the Democrats. Are you ready? Costs are way down.

“Internal recriminations” - it’s a little worse than that. This is why people don’t trust dem leadership right now😡
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Breaking news: The Supreme Court has declined to consider a challenge to its landmark 2015 ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.

The challenge came from a county clerk who stopped issuing marriage licenses shortly after the ruling.

The announcement indicates there is not an appetite among the high court’s conservative majority to revisit one of the court’s most significant decisions in recent years.

It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t moment but more people will feel pain in the long run. Please don’t cave without something tangible.
Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Imo, the country is now aware that republicans have no healthcare plan, never did, and are to blame for no healthcare funds. The message has been delivered. If we want SNAP, healthcare subsidies, vote for dems in 2026. The govt. has to reopen, and dems are for governance not like the other party.
November 9, 2025 at 8:04 PM
If dems cave then everything will be for naught. Insurance premiums will still be unaffordable and the carnage will stick around from the shutdown.
