Haha I totally missed that LAFC resigned Lloris. Surely these stats will only get better as he turns 39.

If these people actually had the courage of their convictions they’d be trying to make King as successful of a comic book writer as possible so he doesn’t go back to the CIA and commit more war crimes.

there is a very good book about transatlantic exchange of fascist, eugenicist and racist ideas in the early 20th century and how those ideas shaped the nazi government in its early years. this has been transformed in popular understanding to "the nazis copied jim crow"
If you’ve heard the “the Nazis got their ideas from the US segregationists” I beg you to please stop. This is both false and it minimizes historical European antisemitism in a misguided attempt to emphasize the nature of US anti-Black racism.

It’s horrific without comparison to Nazism.
May I politely encourage you to reconsider this framing. It is inaccurately stated and suggests consistent and strong linkages that do not exist.

The Nazis did not “get their ideas” from confederate laws. Antisemitism and anti-Jewish laws existed in Europe long before the Confederacy…

Lmao the cognitive dissonance you need to have to cover Israel for a pro-Israel news source is incredible.

That ad where Caitlyn Clark talks about doing things from the logo to make them easier really annoys me. Like I know she’s got great range but she still only shoots 30-40% from out there, she’s 90% from the line.

This is a hard thing to do in reverse because Celtics Shaq was so bad that he wouldn’t have made it five years in the league playing like that.
What’s the opposite of the Shaq in a Celtics uniform meme? Like a guy that went to a new place when he was older and balled out.

The nice thing about Time’s person of the year is that its vast history includes Hitler and Stalin (back to back, even!) so you don’t need to pretend it’s some sort of honor.

This sort of absurd, ultra-bleak reading of the remarkable prosperity of modern societies is not only embarrassingly wrong - and I saw a historian retweet this sincerely (!!) - but also helps fuel not materialist, left-wing politics, but rather reactionary right-wing politics ('RETVRN-ism').

So what you have *actually* discovered is that an American family working at minimum wage is *meaningfully better off* in terms of access to real resources than someone on the lower runs of Victorian Britain's educated *urban middle class.*

Quite the opposite of the intended implication!

No, this is wrong, stop reposting this absurd and miscalculated meme.

It assumes Cratchit is working a 40 hour work week (he isn't) and that straight line inflation extrapolations over centuries are valid (they're not) and fails to understand both Victorian class and household finance.
December 11, 2025 at 1:54 AM
This is because Bob Cratchit was a white collar worker who made very good money for his time, probably more than 80% of British workers at the time, not because the US is a worse place than Victorian England.

Fetterman is an interesting case study because he’s managed to accomplish exactly what the centrists can only dream of (net popular with republicans!) while maintaining a consistent D voting record. And yet everybody in his party hates him and he’s miserable.
Pennsylvania - Fetterman Approvals Among:

Overall: 39%

Republicans: 56%
Democrats: 31%
Independents: 30%

Rare Saka W
Saka said he wants reforms at the state level that allow greater oversight of police, and objects to the fact that the city's police accountability bodies still have no power to subpoena SPD records, despite many years of efforts to give various accountability bodies this authority.

1. Increasingly surreal AI slop.
2. “Hi, I’m REAL PERSON and I endorse this product”
