I've seen artists complain about buying Twitter Blue or whatever it's called now and still not reaching an audience.

This is why. This has always been why. I have been warning you about this for years. They don't want you, but they'll gladly take your money and do nothing in return.

I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being.

Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.
A quoted tweet from a user named Sam that reads: "How Twitter is rigged Type in all caps because you're excited? Lowers your reputation. Include links? Your score goes down. It's like the Credit Score system from Hell. And given Cisgender is treated as a slur & MAGA boosted, you can guess what's categorized as 'offensive'" The tweet they quoted is from user SADIQ and reads: "Tweepcred is X's reputation system Based on your behavior, you get a tweepcred score It determines your reach Break the algo rules, you score goes down and your reach disappears What are the rules of the X algo tho? Glad you asked." SADIQ includes a photo of Twitter's algorithm code that calculates a user's reputation. SADIQ continues: "Post 'offensive text'? 80% reach reduction Offensive username? 80% reach reduction All caps tweet? That's seen as 'shouting. Major penalization. Include links? Yup, penalized"

earlier today, humble delisted bafflingly controversial art game horses. now, just as suddenly, horses has been relisted. the director of the studio behind the game tells me this was because of a review of the game's content prompted by press coverage
Speaking to Aftermath, Santa Ragione co-founder and director Pietro Righi Riva said that Humble temporarily pulled Horses to reevaluate it, but found no reason to set that decision in stone. "In short, their team saw the press coverage and temporarily delisted Horses to reevaluate it," Riva said. "After a full review they determined that while the content is heavy, nothing in the game warrants removal from their store." "We are grateful to Humble for having reconsidered and for taking the time to check out the game, although I wish they had informed us that this process was ongoing!" he added. "We are happy that it has been resolved with the game being back on the store, and we wish Steam and Epic would also reconsider their stance based on the actual game contents."

Tumblr user nocryptographer: I talked with someone who works in book publishing, and they mentioned they get a lot of AI slop these days. I asked how they know what's human-written, and they said that there's one thing that will reveal AI slop without error, and that's the author not knowing their own creation. A real author can talk about their story for hours. They love to elaborate every character, every twist, every detail. Because those existed in their head long before they ever made it to the paper. They were loved before they were written. AI slop wasn't. It was just vomited into existence. Someone who generates their story with AI will never bond with their story the way real writers do. That's why they may not know what to say when they're asked why did the character do this, or even remember the scene in the first place. It's something they read, not something they wrote. And to a writer, those are not the same. There's a unique bond between the creator and the creation. If your writing doesn't come of you, you'll always lack that. I keep hearing soon we won't be able to tell. And perhaps, in a superficial sense, that's true. But there is a difference. It's not em dashes or repeated words. It's whether the story was made by someone who loves it and cares about it. If the writer's eyes light up when asked why did the character do that? and they start their very own Ted Talk about that specific scene... then it's real.

sometimes i think about how some of the sonic folks still won't cross post off the nazi bird app. they are well off financially and always talk about community yet do that shit, even when sega's own team cross posts off it so we can support them without the nazi shit
