I saw this take on TikTok a few days ago and wanted to share it here. I had to truncate it because it's a bit longer than 3 minutes. Her central argument is the US govt has a problem in that decades of stochastic terrorism from gun culture has made us less scared of guns.

In this episode we rolled back the clock and did a full retrospective on the infamous Harper's Letter.

This conversation with @parkermolloy.com was so much fun and what a trip it was travelling back to seemingly simpler times in the discourse.

Everything is really scary and horrible, and on the utter flipside, we made these really adorable valentines.

The dissonance of seeing horror, then posting "hey buy some cute valentines" is making me feel loopy.

But also nice things persist despite terror? Ugh idk.

The Bugbear Dispatch is back to help us American bugbears navigate 2026!

If you had to describe the first two weeks of this year in one word, which would you pick?

For me, the word is surreal. Here I discuss the situation and my thoughts on how to cope:

Fighting the Demoralizing Power of American Surreality
My fellow bugbears, I want to wish you all a happy New Year, but the phrase feels a bit awkward given how off the rails the illegitimate American regime has been since the beginning of the year. If y...

🧵From St. Paul, MN.

The last few nights have been different. ICE kidnappings seemed like a daytime event until this week, but now ICE is active after sundown. The shooting of a civilian by ICE in North Minneapolis is also a grim sign for anyone who lives here.

South Minneapolis, I just woke up with my eyes burning, from all the gas on the other side of town, so we need to be paying attention to this too
I was supposed to be in bed an hour ago but sending links and videos to people so they know to avoid the green gas (zinc chloride).

Seriously, I was a chemist twenty years ago, you do NOT want heavy metal toxicity. It fucks you up in weird ways.
