Today was epidural day. I am curious whether my vibecoding on valium was successful or a calamity.

TIL Archive.org has Berkeley High yearbooks dating back to at least 1895!

archive.org/search?query...

Some really cool historical artifacts there, like this letter from 1933.

Whelp, this one bums me out on a deep personal level. Hopefully we aren't at war with Denmark when I wake up.

Anthropologist / linguist / mediator / bard on an alien planet. Which feels like a missed calling.

I mostly go to novels for world-building (vs. movies for cinematography, TV for characters). The pearly skies, spicy air, and treacherous storms in Nicola Griffith's Ammonite were A+.

Stumbled across this Anderson Cooper I drew in dry-erase marker circa '08 for housemates who had a crush on him.

The grays are just black markers that were starting to run out. Features aren't quite right, but it's a tough medium.

Sucks that horror movies and karaoke are so divisive. Need more buddies to sing and scream with me. 💜

Can’t find a way to write this that doesn’t sound like a twee bromide but genuinely, if your end of year review is that you survived painful things happening in your life & the world, stayed empathetic in an inhospitable environment & treated yourself & others decently then that’s achievement enough

Nerve pain is psychedelic in the worst way. The way flexing your right foot can cause an electric jolt in your left thigh. I'm trying to be curious about it and pretend I enjoy the discoveries.

Keep spazzing which to put on: Anna von Hausswolff, Rosalía, or Juana Molina. Ridic musical bounty these past two weeks have delivered.

Every day after sunset during summer + fall hundreds of thousands of bats leave the their roost near Sacramento, CA to feed

A family of Swainson's hawks waits for them for their own dinner.

Due to the light they're hard to photograph.

Last night one caught a bat less than 30 feet in front of me 🪶

TIL "Baba O'Riley" was partly named after the composer Terry Riley, which super makes sense (the intro sounds like his work).
