Sometimes I’m drawn to the idea of learning to play piano because being an accompanist seems fun and something I’d like and then I remember the time I tried to play music with an accompanist when I was in high school and I almost threw up

Always grateful for the folks who put their bodies on the line out there against any police action but especially this nonsense. it's especially heartening in the face of the attempt to criminalize those were taken, to make them disposable.

given it's happened twice in the twin cities--anyone have any clue why we seem to be getting these big cross-agency events covering up(?) raids? Today's St. Paul thing is having echoes of Lake Street to me

One girl said “it doesn’t matter if you ban a book because everyone can find that information online” and then I blew their minds by talking about how your search history can be monitored and sold to the government without your permission, but your library borrowing history requires a warrant.

i feel so lucky to be learning how to organize in this moment because there is such a bounty of resources from folks who have learned so much. it doesn't mean I'll be a great organizer without doing the work myself, but I still feel so privileged to have learned so, so much

is there a book out there that discusses the like cultural implications of Vatican II and its backlash, particularly in the US catholic church? This is for me connected to the rise of fascist and fascist-adjacent tendencies but I Could Be Wrong and want to learn more.

If you have any offline friends w/Long Covid, please do share so they hear about it! It’s a 50% chance to try an expensive med for free.
Just heard about this huge (49 state) long covid trial using tirzepetide (aka zepbound) one of the newer glp meds. It’s run by researchers at scripps, funded by the eric & wendy schmidt foundation. It looks like it is still enrolling, fully remote participation:
