As immigration courthouse ICE arrests have dipped over the past several weeks, seemingly random ICE arrests appear to be on the rise. Attorneys are calling it “a coordinated campaign of race-based stops in largely Hispanic and immigrant neighborhoods in New York City."

“They often are showing a photo and that’s how they’re getting people to stop and engage with them,” Austin said of the federal agents who pounce. …

“They’re just claiming to be looking for a person to get, people to stop and engage with them, and we absolutely think that it’s race-based.”
“I considered myself a strong person, a resilient person, but I’ve never gone through something like this... Leave your family out of nowhere, the uncertainty of what’s going to happen to you."

Sidewalk Arrests Seize New Yorkers in ICE’s Latest Surge

Every day is a chance to CONTINUE support for six families + a displacement camp. This week, NGOs said that 90% of Gaza is still severely malnourished. You can help these families, mostly kids, access food as well as shelter or winter supplies as the rains worsen.

Only 600 to go for Ruaa to make her goal!
Can anyone chip in with 700 so i can finsh the goal! 🤎
My dearest friend set up the weekly and monthly donation options so that we can stay alive after a tent was destroyed just 100 meters away from us last night. The sand covered our faces while we were still alive.

I’m deeply depressed and can’t keep begging one by one for help anymore.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

People are struggling. I want us to think about how we're going to help each other hang in there this winter. How are you going to support your friends, co-strugglers, and community as they push through this moment? How can you help people muddle through, materially and/or emotionally?

What's the difference between ICE Out of My Wallet and We Ain't Buying It?

Other than that the first boycott targets four more companies than the second?

Do there need to be two different campaigns boycotting Home Depot, Target and Amazon?

(I may regret asking, but I'm curious what others think.)
