ICE needs to be ripped down to the studs. We need to start over and hold this Administration accountable for this mess.

Nothing has changed. Minnesota is still suffering and sending in a new guy to run ICE won’t change that – but Congress can.
"We need to rip ICE down to the studs and start over," Senator Tina Smith of Minnesota writes. "In the wake of this catastrophe, there is no reason we can’t come up with a way of enforcing our laws that doesn’t trample on our values and our Constitution."
Opinion | Senator Tina Smith: I Won’t Vote to Fund ICE Until It Gets Out of My State

ICE was established in March2003.

It's been a failure.

Abolish ICE.

The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.

Very important vote. It makes repealing ICE surge funding the mainstream position in the party, with bipartisan support.
👀 Every Senate Democrat + Collins and Murkowski just voted for the Bernie Sanders amendment to repeal the $75 billion in additional ICE funding under Trump’s “big beautiful bill.” The measure failed 49-51.

People do not understand why government surveillance is so bad and privacy is so important

The problem isn't that you did nothing illegal, they can use the legal things you do, but don't want everyone to know against you

They can leverage the things that you think are private, but they learn

We are now in a full-blown constitutional crisis.

That’s why following the arrests of Don Lemon and Georgia Fort, I sent three separate letters demanding the dismissal of all charges, a congressional hearing, and a DOJ Inspector General investigation.

A Minneapolis friend of mine was telling me how the misogynistic and racist underpinning of this organization are wholly on display in every interaction. Quote: “Watching how many of these agents will talk back to/berate women, but be completely silent when faced by men, has been very telling.”
Everyone should understand what’s on display in Minneapolis: A bunch of insecure, frightened man-babies modeling the absolute worst version of masculinity, facing off against people displaying genuine courage.

This is terrible. It is also an opportunity for certain journalists to finally speak up with a *fraction* of the courage the people of Minneapolis have shown. It is also instructive that Lemon is Black. Woe/pox etc upon white journalists who don’t freak out about this.

We did not properly punish the confederates. We did not properly punish the insurrectionists on January 6th. We have to punish ICE.

They can’t be allowed to slink back into their communities quietly. Expose them. Arrest them. Convict them. Imprison them.
