It's so rare that I post on reddit, but I have been blanking on this old weird DOS Zelda clone for like a literal decade. Please help me find a weird part of my childhood, lol. (You might see 'fake McDonalds' and think God of Thunder, but sadly it wasn't that.)
[PC/DOS] [Est. 1990-95?] Very obvious Zelda clone. The forest town had a weird fake McDonalds and some of the desert area used Disney's Aladdin opening theme in MIDI.

Calling it now: 2028-2033 is going to be all about indie darlings dominating charts not because the quality has improved, but because the offerings are bare enough that more indie gems finally broke through to mainstream awareness.

For gamers who aren't in game dev, you should know that we are in one of the worst periods in game dev history in terms of industry stability and the reason you're not seeing that play out through products is because the average development window of games is 3-7 years so it hasn't reached you yet.
