With what money exactly? I mean really big research groups may have some kind of coordinator job now but book projects are unpaid even for us and smaller grants barely pay to keep whatever project is for alive. It‘s the humanities in 2025.

And don‘t get me started on personnel management. Like if you get funding or become a full professor? You have staff! (Particularly in the German model).

Problem is most of these don‘t go super well because again, people are thrown into cold water. And if they‘d handle it the way they do in a corporate environment they‘d face consequences.

No not every paper but if I edit a book with 60 authors I have to get across the finish line with a big publisher - it‘s a project. And an unpaid one to boot. If I get a big research grant and hire people? It‘s well, a project. So honestly, it depends.

The anxiety is something to watch because I had depression and anxiety before I ever had the IUD and I may also have less triggers for it currently but it‘s still striking.
