I was lucky enough to live through the brief window of human history where the internet, while it certainly had dark corners, was mostly a good and helpful tool for humanity. Wikipedia, Reddit, pre-Musk Twitter … they helped.

I think it's important to remember that, while we always can and should do better, Somerville is actually doing remarkably well - both regionally and especially nationally - on being a walkable, bikable, transit friendly city.
Please keep that in mind as you yell at our electeds to do better.

Does anybody within reach of my voice have a GIS (or similar) dataset that I could use to approximate total square mileage of our rights of way? Looking for data to let me say things like ‘Somerville is 4.4 square miles, 1.1 of that is road, and 0.2 of it is parking.’
