I've noticed that apparently the best way to convince myself to want to play a certain video game or watch a certain show is if there's pretty fictional men in it. Other factors come into play too, of course. That's just the main deal.

This isn't just a casual observation. Fascism scholars have long made this point. It's why calling them "weird" was a more effective strategy than talking about the prices of eggs. Fascism is an aesthetic political movement - you need to make people feel embarassed and horrified by it.

It occurs to me all the yelling at ICE in MPLS isn't merely funny. Getting made fun of like this is awful for morale. ICE is losing field officers faster than it can wave them through training, and a big part of it is how little of this these little weasels can take.

Transitioning has had such an interesting impact on me as a singer. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret it. It's just that before I started testosterone, I was a mezzo soprano and now I'm a baritone. Female range songs used to be tailor-made for my voice, but now I understand the baritone's struggle😅

Furthermore, every time you de-prioritize a trans actor because of that identity (keeping them out of roles because you're worried they're too "political"), you've discriminated against that actor. Period.

Got to meet the voice actress Grey DeLisle at a convention yesterday while with my friend who was getting an autograph from her and when I brought up in conversation that I was getting into voice acting myself she told me that I had a nice voice! :)
