Farage arrives in Scotland today, and it should make our collective stomach heave that this repulsive, dangerous extremist has crossed the border. Amid scapegoating schoolkids and allegations of antisemitism anyone who supports this man is morally in the gutter

"Farage in Falkirk? It should make our stomachs heave to have him in Scotland"
Nigel Farage’s Falkirk visit sparks outrage, with many Scots saying his presence north of the border should make “our stomachs heave”.

There is no official agreement of any kind that a referendum in 2014 was "once in a generation", there is however an official agreement that Scotland can choose to become independent if it is the wish of the people that live here.

What’s Scotland supposed to do? Consult Nostradamus to find out how we have another referendum?

Rachel Reeves says that even if the SNP wins a majority on its own at Holyrood the UK government will still not permit another vote.

It’s a democratic outrage

In light of Labour's Ed Milliband stating he would invite nuke companies to Scotland if Labour win in GE2026, it's worth remembering that planning for nuclear dumping was one of the powers stripped from Scotland by Westminster's Powergrab. Where do *you* think they'll want to put it?

So when Farage rails against the latest migration figures, he's railing against a monster of his own making. The EU didn't impose uncontrolled immigration on us; it offered a framework that reflected geography, economics and reality”

ie - control.

People are just realising that we had a better grip on immigration within the EU
They gave us bar staff and builders - we gave them sunburnt pensioners and seaside property booms. It was win-win.

There's a weird belief in this country that when the public vote in a referendum, that electorate becomes an eternal arbiter of that issue.

It's like the people who insist that the Scottish independence issue is settled because an electorate that no longer exists voted on it over a decade ago.

Autocracies since time immemorial
If you keep voting for politicians who want to cut public services and roll back human rights, eventually you end up desperate but powerless because if you so much as squeak in protest the government is free to do what it wants to you.
