The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

Resolution Foundation analysis of the Chancellor's Budget:

Typical families gain approximately £230 from energy bill support, fuel duty & rail fare measures.

Scrapping two-child benefit limit helps over half a million families by an average of £5,000.

The Budget is progressive overall, RF finds.

"Sir Keir Starmer has denied putting the Labour Party before the country by ending the two-child benefit cap".

Can we please go back to reporting the actual news, not someone's partisan take on it?

Utterly juvenile and unparliamentary antics from Kemi Badenoch during her response to the budget.

Desperate, undignified and ineffective.

@steverichards.bsky.social #Skynews well done! Being asked to pay more tax in order to support the less fortunate in society is NOT 'punitive'. Noticeable that Anna Botting stopped you as you were explaining why. FGS paying tax is not a bloody punishment!! I'm so sick of this crap. Nobody likes tax
