My new paper with Cunningham, Hodgson, and Wang (on the JM!) studies the 2017 FDA Final Rule, which required drug firms to publicly disclose all clinical trial results.
Disclosure increased, but innovation slowed.

Hypothesis: Actual research time decreases with tenure for all disciplines - in lab based fields you are nevertheless added as an author to papers written near you, while in the social sciences becoming an author is harder.
Research output after tenure drops off a cliff for business, economics, sociology, and other non-lab fields.
But it remains high post-tenure in lab-based fields such as chemistry, physics, computer science, and engineering.

Do you also miss an elegant way to add table and figure notes in #Quarto #RStats? I've finally managed to put together a small Lua filter to make it easy 🤓 github.com/simonreif/no... currently only with LaTeX implementation, but hopefully I can add other outputs later 🚀

When Germany introduced structured reimbursement for health apps, way more apps were developed for the German market - BUT these additional apps actually are not the high-quality apps targeted by the reimbursement scheme! Check out our new #HealthEcon discussion paper ftp.zew.de/pub/zew-docs...
