Just ran the numbers and unfortunately we won't be able to do Capitol Hill Pride this year---booth prices are literally double that from the last time we did it and even if somehow (with everything burning) we kept the same level of revenue we'd barely be able to pay to staff the booth. :sob:

i remember 2 years ago when the right celebrated the murder of Laura Ann Carleton who wasn’t even gay for hanging a pride flag (and in gay haven CA). then the year after that they voted for the promise of trans genocide. being queer is a perfectly acceptable reason to be murdered to these ppl

it is impossible for mayors or cops to learn positive lessons about protest response because they all have two immovable beliefs:
1. it is evil and childish to hold police officers accountable for violent acts
2. cops must be present at all times during protests

The lesson Frey and Walz were supposed to learn in 2020 was that sending riot police to a peaceful protest creates a confrontation that results in some dipshit cops shooting people in the eye with a gas canister which then we have to goddamn pay for in settlements while also our city burns.
