Spoke last night to an agriculture researcher about what will be lost by closing federal research stations. Long term plot trends that only appear after decades. Work on adjacent plantings to weather humid/dry cycles. Nothing that private sector would do. All with economic value that will die.
Strong, practical info here on why cutting Ag Canada research stations is a terrible idea. We *know* these places continue to pay back in crop yields and quality - many times their cost. @mark-carney.bsky.social
