I would like for national political reporters to place a moratorium on “But what will voters in the rest of America think about New York City’s socialist mayor?” We don’t care! Red states are notably full of psycho politicians yet rarely do you see pundits asking Brooklyn people about them.

Q: What's your message to the 170 US citizens who have been detained by ICE? About 20 of them are children
MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know what you're talking about with the children. I haven't seen that so I'm not going to comment on it.

The entire perspective of the Trump admin, and it’s supporters, is that if you back your opposition into a corner where the choices are violence or complete submission, you can always paint the violence as antisocial, radical, and an offense to national security.
The press has aided that goal.
The press has aided that goal.
This serves a few purposes.
1) It chills speech and dissent, by demonstrating the admin will put forth whatever narrative they prefer to excuse their actions, and treat that narrative as fact/gospel. 2) It will increase the likelihood of leftists willing to accept violence as a solution.
