LESLEY STAHL: You contributed to the toxic culture. You were out there pounding, insulting people

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: You've contributed to it as well

STAHL: I want you to respond to what you have done in terms of insulting people

MTG: I'd like for you to respond to that

To normalize the monstrous lie he’s pushing because our news media is incapable of objectively covering literally any issue including very obvious murder!
Not sure I understand the news value in bringing Tom Cotton on your TV show to repeat a monstrous lie you watched him say on television earlier this week

Originalism only applies in repealing rights not granting them
During ratification of the 14th Amendment, senators discussed whether the Citizenship Clause would apply to the children of immigrants and resoundingly concluded that it did. The text and history all point in one direction and the counter-arguments are patently fraudulent. I am going to lose my mind
The evidence is the text. All you have to do is read the Constitution.

By the way this is why I know they’re lying when they say they knew who was on the boats and they’re all on a military list. The US military had somehow built a dossier on Robert Sanchez, the boat pilot living in a cinderblock house and earning $100 a month? He was next on the kill list after Osama?
Everyone seems to have forgotten but the AP actually went to Venezuela and found some of these men. They aren’t terminator-like cartel warriors, ready to give their life to ship kilos. They’re random dudes from small towns - bus drivers, fishermen - recruited for a payday. apnews.com/article/trum...
Trump has accused boat crews of being narco-terrorists. The truth, AP found, is more nuanced
One was a fisherman struggling to eke out a living on $100 a month. Another was a career criminal. A third was a former military cadet.

If you call it a “male immaturity epidemic,” a very different set of phenomena come into focus, as this thread shows
I'm starting to wonder how much "the male loneliness epidemic" is just straight and bisexual women identifying low-effort, mean, and incompetent men and choosing not to date, marry, and tolerate them anymore

In other words, Trump admits he was trying to use his pardon power to buy Republicans a House seat.

EXCLUSIVE: Pete Hegseth ordered the U.S. military on Sept. 2 to kill all 11 people on a suspected drug-smuggling boat because they were on an internal list of military targets, the commander overseeing the operation told lawmakers, according to multiple sources.
Admiral told lawmakers everyone on alleged drug boat was on a list of military targets
Adm. Frank Bradley said U.S. intelligence had identified the 11 people on the boat and determined the military was authorized to kill them as part of Trump’s campaign against alleged drug-smuggling vessels.

Meghan McCain is as mainstream a Republican as you can imagine if we pretend it's just the MAGA extremist base, and not mainstream Republicans, who love not only the ICEstapo cruelty but vows to openly ethnically cleanse Somali-Americans, then we will never hope to get out of this mess.
"If you do a Google search for 'ICE raid this is what I voted for' you will get a quick sense of how MAGA supporters are celebrating the cruelty of Trump’s deportation regime."

The current Supreme Court has forfeited all legitimacy.

Democrats (and everyone) need to address that reality.

John Roberts > Roger Taney.

Court needs to expand. And have fixed terms—like *every* other supreme court in developed world. And have ethics rules, like all normal organizations.

There’s no objective way to look at this and conclude anything other than Trump, Hegseth and Bradley committed murder.
NEW info on shipwreck attack. It gets worse.

The 2 survivors climbed atop wreckage and waved to overhead.

"Some of the people viewing the video thought ... could have been an attempt to surrender"

To be crystal clear about this: The plaintiffs challenged the Texas law six days *before* it was signed by the Governor and became law. That was *too late*.
We need to talk about the massive loophole that the Supreme Court just carved into election law over the shadow docket—giving states a free pass to enact patently unconstitutional voting rules within nearly *one year* of an election. A stunning new limit on judicial review. slate.com/news-and-pol...

This will be 7-2 with Thomas arguing straight up repeal of the 14th amendment bc he’s an Uncle Tom and Alito saying non-whites aren’t people. Roberts will have the majority with a tepid defense of the 14th and Sotomayor or KBJ with a true defense of it.
Here is the question presented. It's a relatively clean vehicle for the Supreme Court to finally decide whether it is lawful for the president to deny birthright citizenship to the children of immigrants. www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/25...

The Q for Republicans is even simpler: what is the law that authorized the use of force against these targets?

There’s no law. It doesn’t matter if it was drugs, puppies or Trump Steaks on the boat, it was an illegal strike that murdered several people
It looks like Tom Cotton was being deceptive by saying video shows the men trying to flip boat "loaded with drugs." As I reported, Ds who saw video say no drugs were visible/boat was crippled.

Q for Rs is simple: Did you see drugs and was boat incapacitated, or no?

cool that the official position of the administration appears to be that black people don’t really count as americans
