Good morning, Bluesky. I have been getting a few new followers and felt I should reintroduce myself. I'm Scott; #husband, #father, newly #DisabledVeteran, #Nurse, #photographer living in Southern Nevada. Here are a few of my photos there are more at ScottWGonzalez.com.

A calm pool in Baker Creek, the wavy reflections of the nearly white sky and autumn colored trees can be seen below the gray and tan boulders that are in the water. The creek disappears into the distance and is bordered by orange and yellow leafed Aspen. Comet c/2023 a3 and the Milkyway in a dark blue night sky with many stars over a mountain range. In the foreground is a Joshua Tree light painted under the Milkyway on the left and a not light painted Yucca on the right. Between the foreground plants and the mountains other vegetation is visible.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Happy #StunDay to all that celebrate. The first time I knowingly encountered Sacred Datura was in the #Mojave National Preserve in #California. I could smell them from 20 ft away. Orion was racing the sunrise and made a great background.

A photograph of a Sacred Datura bush that is flowering. The flowers are white look like trumpets facing towards the sky. They are coming out of green tubes that are between dark green leaves. The plant takes up the lower third of the frame with some flowers going above the distant horizon to be outlined by the brightening sky. The left middle of the frame is where the sun is lightening the sky to the point that it is white, it graduates to a cerulean blue on the top right of the frame. Just before the frame turns white out of focus stars are visible including the constellation Orion facing up and slightly to the right.

Hey #birders. My Dad who lives in Big Bear California says he saw 40ish Bald Eagles of various ages (some had white heads and some didn't) kettling over his house.
I have never heard of this and I thought they only hung out in pairs.

I am torn in this game.
I want the Dodgers to win because they are my lifelong team.
I kind of want the Blue Jay's to win because it will upset MAGA.

I had a thought a while back and it seems more important now with the trump shutdown.
Are Republicans counting on citizens taking up the slack donating time and money to causes, so they can say that the government doesn't need to fund them and cut future funding?

It is hard to believe that it was only a year ago that I got to first process this picture taken outside Great Basin NP. This picture was taken on 12 October; I couldn't process it until I got home on the 14th. The first of many pictures I took of #Comet #c2023a3

Comet c/2023 a3 at sunset just above dark mountains, the sky is graduated from a bright yellow on the lower right to a near black at the top and left. Stars are visible about halfway up the frame. In the foreground is a street sign that says "WELCOME TO NEVADA HWY 50" with a smaller sign that says "30 Years America's Loneliest Road" many sticks are on the smaller sign and there is a reflection from lights on the lower right corner. Other road signs can be seen in the distance as well as part of a starburst from a headlight on the lower right side of the frame.

I didn't have enough heavy cream to make this batch of ice cream (about 1/2 cup short) so I added some melted butter to it. OMG this buttercream frosting ice cream is so good. I am going to use butter in the next ice cream batch to see if it has the same effect.

A cloudy rocky beach. The clouds take up the top third of the frame and are grays and pinks from the sunset. The middle third of the frame is a blue gray rough ocean with waves breaking into white on the beach which is just visible going to the right of the frame. There is a land outcropping on the horizon that is dark gray/black coming into the frame from the right and stretching halfway into the frame between the ocean and the sky. The foreground and bottom third of the frame is the only part in focus and is a collection of rocks and pebbles of various hues. Most of them are gray and tan all of them are wet. Balanced on a black rock about one third of the frame from the right is a small rock that is probably made of quartz. It is white and cloudy and stands out against all of the gray in the frame.

Today was the 13 year old's birthday party. It was a small party and fantastic. A tent (where they closed themselves in to sing together), hot dogs and s'mores over a fire pit, riddles, jokes, and much laughter.
We have to take moments to acknowledge the good in this world.

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.
