Canadians horrified by what ICE is doing should realize the RCMP uses the same tactics domestically against Indigenous people and yet barely anyone speaks up.

Journalists have been arrested just for trying to cover it
Carol Linnitt, co-founder and editor-in-chief, provides an update on The Narwhal’s court case against the RCMP. Amber Bracken finished cross-examination late Jan. 28. It took more than 12 hours.

New #paleoart at #Patreon for #FossilFriday: Caudipteryx encounters a frozen lake, is unsure, prob. makes wee bokking noises as its feet slide apart hilariously.

Lots of discussion about the colour data of this animal in my Patreon post. www.patreon.com/posts/149439...

One of my most persistent issues with ST: Discovery is the passivity of the dialogue. Conversations never feel like real conversations and disagreements are dealt with quickly without ongoing conflict between individual crewmembers.

Wife and I finished Star Trek Discovery last night, and even though the last 2 seasons are pretty good, there is a lot about it that never clicked for me.

Would you still love me if I was as Ottoia?
I love a worm with a toothy proboscis.

These Ottoia lived about 508 million years ago among a seabed now preserved in British Columbia. The worms burrowed in the sediment, slurping up smaller animals with their extendable, spine-coated mouthparts. 🧪

Are there any well choreographed/shot fight scenes in Star Trek?

Because I can't think of any.

Ice Age art!

A lovely little horse figurine sculpted from mammoth tusk around 15,000 years ago!

Known as ‘The Little Horse of Lourdes’ it was found in 1886 in the cave of Les Espélugues, Lourdes, Haute-Pyrénées, France. 📷 by me.
