Me reading this after bolting awake at 7:10.
Did a bluesky browse, going to lay back down. Turkey doesn't need to start yet.

Growing up with You Can't Do That on Television, Today's Special, Belle & Sebastian, and Mysterious Cities of Gold. Canadian, Canadian, Anime, French. Oh, and Fifteen, another import from our neighbors to the North.

Youtube/tiktok have definitely expanded my repertoire. Nothing like idly watching Babish make carbonara and then think "I could do that."
If I didn't have to decide to make something... I've grown to appreciate Hellofresh, boom, here's the menu, the ingredients, I just have to put it together.

Living in a townhouse for a summer in college, and then having an apartment my senior year were the genesis of my cooking. "I cannot just live on fast food and frozen meals."

29. The Thrawn trilogy is not anywhere close to as good as you remember. But it did come at a time where there was nothing else really going on in Star Wars, and opened up the possibilities of what a Star Wars story could be.

They would make terrible movies.

7. The only twist in any Star Wars media that has ever been as good as Empire Strikes Back is the revelation in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

I mean, yes, this sounds like a fun D&D party or a good fantasy read.

If we'd had one in the previous places I lived, I was unaware (but also I was 3 and 6). Here, it was one of the Big Stores, along with Penny's and Sears.

None of which is at the mall anymore. Target moved out to a strip mall area, which now includes a Barnes & Noble

Our Walden was just outside Target, one of the three anchor points of the mall.

I think Borders had opened nearby as Walden died. Then the shell of Borders was reanimated but a BAM which I just never warmed to.

Yo. Our mall had Walden and B Dalton, but Walden was the first stop, all the time. My Walden card lived in my wallet beyond death for years.

The X-Wing books remain the part of the EU I'll keep coming back to. When I was younger, I think I preferred Stackpole's because they were more serious, but over time, I realized Allston delivered, and with a deeper cast than all Corran all the time.

Michael A Stackpole gave us a book that was one part courtroom drama and one part prison break in a series about space ww2 dogfighting and it absolutely kicks ass

I watched many monsters growing up, but maybe none left a mark as deep as Peppermint Patty for Thanksgiving.

Yeah, I'd watch this

I have one player who takes great notes. And likes mapping. Others may jot things down.

I love all my players. But the note taker, I would move heaven and earth to keep her at my table.

(After a lengthy hiatus, I went into _her_ notes to check where we are in the game)

The fact that Mattel - which now owns the IP - moved on developing Magic 8 Ball and ViewMaster movies before Dinosaurs With Fucking Laser Guns is straight up corporate malpractice
