Walz: "What's happening in MN defies belief. News reports simply don't do justice to the level of chaos & disruption & trauma the federal govt is raining down... This long ago stopped being a matter of immigration enforcement. Instead, it's a campaign of organized brutality against the people of MN"

American Federation of Teachers is (finally!) dumping X, and moving to Bluesky. Good for them!
It's time to officially let X/Twitter go. That platform's decline from a vibrant public square to what is now a platform for hate & disinformation has been painful to experience. I’ve already in this great community & look forward to continuing our conversations.

The American Federation of Teachers says it is leaving X, citing the social media site's creation and dissemination of "sickening" images of children in various states of undress.

For the rest of my life:

"We can't pay for--" fuck you they paid for ICE to ravage our cities.

"We can't just defund--" fuck you they abolished the Department of Education.
We could have paid teachers at any time.

We could have simply offered a dignified wage to do any of the work we need done at any time.

San Fransisco could be clean right now.

It was always a matter of political will.
ICE AGENT: “I love my job. I can’t believe they pay me to do this. I’d do it for free. I only went to high school and I make $200,000.”

Condé Nast forgot to renew the trademark for Gourmet and so a group of journalists grabbed it and are relaunching the food magazine as a worker-owned co-op. Love it. [gourmetmagazine.net]

124 new measles cases in SC since Friday for a total of 2,144 cases across 44 states. In normal times, CDC would be surging funds and staff to state and local health departments to try to contain outbreaks. Now? Nothing.

This is RFKJ, a believer in "natural immunity", telling us to "tough it out"

DHS labeling Renee Good a ‘violent rioter’ fits its ongoing propaganda campaign

The government’s broad, seemingly reflexive use of “violent rioters” pushes the noxious idea that it’s criminal to publicly gather and express outrage at government officials.

Luckily, their effort is failing badly.
Opinion | The feds seem to use the 'violent rioter' label for anyone who protests ICE
Jarvis DeBerry: The government wants us to think Renee Good was a “violent rioter” who got what violent rioters are due

there is no positive route forward for the United States without mass arrests and trials for DHS employees
You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

"Was the officer struck by the vehicle, as President Trump insists, or did the car pass by or around him?"
If we only had some trusted institution that could adjudicate between competing claims by relying on facts.

Dems are still approaching this wrong. I just saw a BBC host ask a state senator if Tim Walz should call out the National Guard.

He says, "No, because Minnesotans know how to protest peacefully."

THAT'S NOT WHO THE GUARD IS FOR. THE GUARD IS TO PROTECT THE PROTESTERS FROM LAWLESS FEDERAL AGENTS.
