I hope you’re all enjoying this descent into madness.

The important thing to remember is what while I can’t sing, neither can eels, so this little jingle is very scientifically accurate.

So please. Get an eel facts advent calendar. You don’t have to wait until Christmas for eels. EelFacts.Net

You're never gonna believe this, but we're out of archaeologists again.

We have matched ~650 groups with archaeologists this semester! I am so grateful to the 196 Archaeologist volunteers!

We have 60 unmatched groups rn

Know archaeologists who could do a session? Send them to SkypeAScientist.com

It's a dark time for artists. Many are struggling!

It's easy to buy gifts online. When you buy from *artists*, you're supporting working people, instead of making rich jerks richer.

This fall, send your present $$ to an artist's shop!

Artists! Drop your shop links!

& check out SquidFacts.net 😘

Whimsical egg sacs
Diminutive fairy wombat poop. Tiny cubes under 2mm on each side.

These are egg sacs made by a spider in the family Theridiosomatidae.

They made yesterday’s hike special. Finding something I’ve never seen before is such a thrill.

Made a zine tonight about how to help feed people with food insecurity , and my art was terrible, but fortunately the event was Bad Art For Good so it kept with the theme. I like my little zine! Might make it look nicer and actually pass some out
Was going to make a poster tonight but this inspired me to try my hand at a zine

Lots of great art and conversations tonight at Bad Art for Good (and the cheese donation? hell yeah Perrystead Dairy)!

I got started on a tree-focused zine but unfortunately the jet lag is still hitting me like a bag of bricks at 8pm every night so I didn’t finish it. I’ll continue later!

Slowly rubbing my temples reading this
Todd Howard: The Elder Scrolls 6 is “still a long way off”

"I like to just announce stuff and release it. My perfect version – and I’m not saying this is going to happen – is that it's going to be a while and then, one day, the game will just appear."

Alright, look, ideally Guillermo del Toro will make another aquatic monster romance. Personally, I feel we're overdue for one of those, but if he must remake classics, can we get that guy on Beauty and the Beast? I bet he could give us the ending we all deserve for that one.

2 hours and 20 minutes into Wicked and these witches STILL haven't kissed? I can't believe this. This is an outrage.

Please buy an advent calendar! This is our 3rd year. Ours arrived yesterday; my husband came & handed the envelope to me. “What’s in it? WAIT, IS IT THIS YEAR’S ANIMAL FACTS ADVENT CALENDAR?!” I slowly pulled it out of the envelope, facing it towards him. His face lit up as he shouted, “EEL FACTS!!”
This year we have sold 31% of the advent calendars that we sold last year 😓

The art is so pretty and colorful 🥺
The facts are so good 🥺
Eels are so cool 🥺

Never saw the appeal in advent calendars until now. Bring on the eel facts!!!
Advent is a mere 3 weeks away!

Consider this. Who in your life...

feels joy in learning?
likes the ocean?
needs a little treat?

You should send them an Eel Facts Advent Calendar!

Sales support @skypeascientist.bsky.social and it's just plain fun!

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!
