And this is always, always the agenda of Doug Ford and every other conservative politician
Because when you educate the masses, they're more likely to notice you trying to pull one over on them

This is not sustainable.
And that’s part of the privatization agenda.
Break the public system and then point to privatization of education as the solution.
It’s a genius plan.
And our kids will pay the price.

The result is increased student frustration, dysregulation, and overwhelm. Burned out staff that are leaving education in droves. Students with special education needs and language learning needs going without support and falling behind. Kids falling through the cracks.

Since 2018 when Doug Ford became the Premier of Ontario, #OntEd has struggled to make ends meet. Specialized supports and programs have been stripped away from students. Student safety is the only reason EA support is assigned, and it’s typically shared between several students.

Public schools need to be appropriately staffed so that ALL students can have access to an education. We’ve reduced our expectations to “try your best to keep kids alive and unharmed” instead of “make sure all kids have the resources they need to be safe and learn at school”.

Educational programming can include sensory activities and calming spaces, but kids need to be working on actual learning goals, or else it’s not really school. It’s glorified babysitting. Providing supervision within a school building is not the same as providing an education.

WATCH: Seriously, if you’re following ANY bike-lane debate, you HAVE TO WATCH this news story. You actually can’t make this up. Ford claims without evidence that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data.

Ontario is in a homelessness and affordability crisis. This government knows it but still chooses different priorities. It’s not that we “can’t” fund supports. It’s that they won’t.
9.1 million dollars could pay the salary of many educational assistants to keep students safe and open up access to equitable education.
What could $9.1 million do for healthcare, public transit, supportive housing, or the environment?
