Really excited to say that I’ll be part of @SkyNews’ US election night. I’ll be presenting from our very own magic wall, with the best data team in the business.

Time to geek out.

No. 1 in a series of my favourite soundtracks. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis tends to be my go to soundtrack.

Calling medical Bluesky people. Presumably a rotator cuff injury heals at some point? It's been weeks and no sign of it getting much better.

Culture is soft power in a networked world. Never more so in a world where maturing, stronger nations race up the economic value chain. Philistinism isn't 'common sense'. It's long-term suicide.
England still scratching its head over this complex mystery.

It seems me and my other half have hit on a regular routine when trying choose a film to watch. Spend half an hour plus flicking through trying to find a film we can agree on. Finally find one with that actor we like.

Get half way through the film before we realise we have seen it before.

My son is 19, Autistic, Non Verbal & has profound learning disabilities.

He cannot read or write, dress himself or use a toilet.

Today I am taking him to the Job Centre because applying for Universal Credit requires him to attend.

It’s hard to imagine anything less appropriate for his needs

Good blog this. Suella Braverman - hardly a figure of significance or substance who is going to pack out a room at CPAG earned £60,000 on the international speaking circuit, basically the same as she'd get for being leader of the opposition.
Most of this money is American, and a study of Twitter tells us what the American right wants to hear about Britain at the moment. It's that we are ruled by mullahs and all live in fear of arrest for saying the wrong thing. liberalengland.blogspot.com/2024/08/us-m...

So bored of these kinds of hot takes on mental health. As someone who lives with PTSD, it's not "just words" but a condition that has a profound impact on every part of my life, and my ability to get through any given day. I'm lucky to have support in that, too many don't and therein lies the issue.
