Jesse Chavez played 18 seasons for nine teams but his first post-retirement job, as a bullpen coach, is on a different team entirely. That's gotta be really rare.

the good news is the price change doesn't kick in until 1/1, and we're currently running our yearly promotion for a yearly sub, a copy of the Annual, and a t-shirt, so there literally isn't a better time to subscribe or extend a subscription with us:

I just want to say that "This is the first ever known David Wright-only ballot" is a incredible sentence, I love it
Ballot #5 is from a voter who wishes to remain anonymous. As a refresher, we are unable to report adds or drops, if any, on anonymous ballots.

This is the first ever known David Wright-only ballot. There will not be a unanimous inductee this year.

End up buying it out for $75M
According to ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez, the Angels and Anthony Rendon are in discussions to buy out the final year of his seven-year, $245 million contract.

Rendon is owed $38 million in 2026 and is expected to retire, per Gonzalez.

It's obviously smart for a million reasons that so-so starters don't throw 150 pitches in postseason games anymore, but watching Britt Burns pitch several innings out of gas sounds like it was pretty fun, too:

This phrase is simply too sticky, I'm going to be saying "payment for a horse" after severely wild pitches for the rest of time.
