Trey Yesavage struck out 12 batters and walked none in seven innings of one-run ball in Game 5 of the freakin' World Series.

He also generated 23 whiffs tonight, the most by any pitcher in the World Series in the pitch-tracking era (since 2008).

Here are his dozen strikeouts against the Dodgers.
Ryan O'Hearn to the Pirates on a two-year deal worth $29 million, per Robert Murray.

That is a perfect landing spot for player and team alike. Pittsburgh has added two legitimate and much-needed bats this winter.

This was one of my favorite EW pods of the year.

The conversation with Jeff Passan is just so good. We don’t get to hear him talk this candidly very often.

And the Sam Blum dialogue on the Angels-Skaggs trial is fascinating if not a little depressing.

Good move for the A’s to shore up a second-base group that finished with an MLB-worst .550 OPS in 2025.

Jeff McNeil had a .746 OPS and 2.1 fWAR in 122 games in ‘25 so this is a sizable upgrade.

The Trump supporter who runs CBS news just killed a story about Trump’s favorite torture prison. Here’s why America has a liberal media bias problem.

The White Sox did the damn thing. Good for them.

It’s going to be fun watching what Murakami does with a growing core of good young position players.

The thought of Munetaka Murakami ending up with the White Sox never once crossed my mind until now and honestly, I think that would be a fun landing spot.

Alex Bregman's offensive profile and clubhouse leadership make him an obvious fit in Toronto.

It'd also be fascinating to see what Bregman signing in Toronto would do for the Tucker/Bichette markets.

It’s going to be fascinating watching the transition from the old Rizzo front office to the new Nationals regime headed by Tobini.

The sheer difference in age, experience, analytics, etc. is going to make for total 180.

For Nationals, it’s out with the old, in with the newest, youngest leadership corps in MLB
The Nationals were known as one of MLB's most traditional organizations. Now they're bringing in a uniformly young, fresh group to lead.

The Orioles still need to add a legit frontline starter (which they’ll likely do) but this is another nice addition for them.

Rogers-Bradish-Baz is going to look awfully nice behind what is presumably a bonafide ace.

Wow, that’s a strong move for the Royals.

Matt Strahm was one of the best relievers in baseball with the Phillies from 2023-25 (2.71 ERA and 257 strikeouts in 212 2/3 innings).

I get that the Phillies just signed Brad Keller, but this one is a little puzzling for me.
We have acquired LHP Matt Strahm from the Philadelphia Phillies for RHP Jonathan Bowlan.
