Trey Yesavage struck out 12 batters and walked none in seven innings of one-run ball in Game 5 of the freakin' World Series.

He also generated 23 whiffs tonight, the most by any pitcher in the World Series in the pitch-tracking era (since 2008).

Here are his dozen strikeouts against the Dodgers.
There's a lot of offseason left but from a pure vibes and fan perspective (not to mention the on-field production), the Mets losing Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo and Edwin Díaz in one offseason is TOUGH.

Hug your Mets friends today, folks.

Orioles' first basemen hit the fewest home runs (14) of any team last season and boasted the seventh-worst OPS (.679).

Pete Alonso has bopped at least 34 home runs in every full MLB season and owns a career .857 OPS.

That is a huge addition at a position of need for the Orioles.

Kyle Finnegan is heading back to the Tigers, per Ken Rosenthal.

That reunion always made sense. Detroit tweaked Finnegan's arsenal by having him throw significantly more splitters and the results were great (1.50 ERA, 23 strikeouts and four walks in 18 innings).

Add Valdez/Imai/Suárez and Edward Cabrera to that Orioles rotation and I'd be so in on Baltimore for 2026.

Cabrera really took a big step forward in '25 and I could see an even bigger jump in the right situation next year.

The Angels are acquiring Vaughn Grissom in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Between Grissom, Grayson Rodriguez and Alek Manoah, the Angels are really taking some chances on some dudes with top-prospect pedigree or a few good MLB seasons in the distant past.

In his first four years with the Phillies, Kyle Schwarber ranked top five in the Majors with:

187 home runs (t-second-most)
426 walks (third-most)
434 RBIs (fourth-most)
429 runs (fifth-most)

And there's no signs of slowing down -- Schwarber was better than ever at age 32.

I'm a little shocked it only took three years for Edwin Díaz.

Yes, he set the AAV record at $23 mil/year, but that's an incredibly affordable deal for every team.

Of course, there's also the chance that Díaz was simply happy to make this kind of money closing for a team going for a three-peat.

Dodgers only negative was their bullpen and they just added Edwin Díaz. This is not the Dodgers' fault. Other teams shouldn't have allowed it. They should've done everything in their power to stop it, namely they should've paid more money than the Dodgers. Unfortunately, half the league cries poor
