For years I've heard mostly boomers whine and moan about people in my generation using 'like' as filler in sentences, but the way way way worse language introduction is what I call the "CEO Right" -- used by ceo's or people who think they will one day be CEOs. Unlike 'like' or 'um' it is COERCIVE.

I like Paul Dano. He's good in most things and great in some. But one of my favorite things about Paul Dano is that he was one of those actors you only needed to talk about when he had movies or TV appearances to instigate the conversation.

We had a tenuous social contract and it has been violated.

MLB dot com released their top 100 draft prospects. The high school players were born in 2008 and Jose Contreras’ son is a real player to watch 👴

The Somali community was well-established in Minnesota when I lived there in the late ‘90s and early aughts. The vitriol being directed at them is just as dangerous as any attack on any other group would be. Turning people against their neighbors only hurts communities.

I thought this piece brought up some interesting points, but what I'm hung up on is that we're taking Theo's word on fans' desire for more doubles/triples. Like out of context, i can see fans saying this, but is there data that fans are more unhappy about the state of the gapper vs. 10 years ago?
“Imagine there was a curved line in the outfield."

New from me:

The gapper is dead. Doubles hit their lowest rate in 3 decades. Triples are at their lowest rate ever.

So who killed the double & triple? And what can MLB do about it?

The gapper is dead: Who killed the double and triple — and what can MLB do about it?
Armed with analytics, teams are playing outfielders deeper than ever, and doubles and triples are vanishing. Can a rule change fix this?

The official policy of the Trump Administration is ignorant bigotry. We’re asked, under principles including charity, to assume that people support the administration despite that policy, not specifically because of it. I am increasingly unwilling to extend that charity.

Good read. The things that stood out to me -- Jones is in at No. 6 because of his volatility, Dillon Lewis cracked the top 10! and is considered the best defensive outfielder in the system (i always assumed it was Jones). Also Hurd making the list is a surprise as he hasnt thrown a pro pitch.

Everyone is getting upset about the data centers. They pollute a lot and use a lot of energy and will eventually be very ugly/huge vacant buildings. And I understand being mad about that. Until you consider the state of the lazer tag industry at this moment, and how much help that sector needs.
