How do current and past coalitions explain variations in affect between pairs of parties? This video with Jim Adams summarizes our @cpsjournal.bsky.social article on the topic (w/ @rwillh11.bsky.social), may be useful for those teaching about polarization in Europe:

New, from me:
Trump just fired the head of the BLS, accusing her of rigging data.
The reality is that by shooting the messenger reporting on the negative effects of his economic policies, Trump pushed America further into banana republic territory.

Rather than being protectors of the status quo (as they run in 2024), democrats should be the party of "our institutions are broken and here's a set of reforms we propose: multi-member districts/PR, congress expansion, term limits for judges...."
A new House map proposed by the Texas GOP would take 5 seats away from Democrats.

Remind me, how is this not just cheating?

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.
