Film lover - horror, exploitation, action, pretty much anything. But genre is my home.
Here for fun vibes about movies and shit, not much else.
Seeing THE SHINING in IMAX today with friends and like, I'm so excited to have this experience?

I think what holds me back from loving 2011's THE MUPPETS is my irrational hatred of Jason Segel.

SUPERMAN '25 put some pep in the step of superhero movies again, so I'm naturally stoked for this. And was that Kandor I saw in the trailer getting captured!? (idk if that's an element of the comic this is based on, still haven't read it).
First trailer for ‘Supergirl’

Great, underseen Showa era goodness.
The X from Outer Space (1967) Dir. Kazui Nihonmatsu — The tipping point where kaiju fully embraced the silly. Guilala (also…a Ben Affleck film?) stomps through this off-kilter gem. Nudged the genre toward delightful absurdity. Goofy and backed by a wonderfully strange score. Impossible not to grin🎞️📽️

I SUCK at ranking things cuz I can never commit. But as of right now this is probably my top 11 (cuz 10 is it too few) favorite GODZILLA films in honor of GODZILLA VS DESTOROYAH's 30th birthday.
December 9, 2025 at 3:19 PM
Is it my favorite Godzilla movie? Yes, probably.
Takao Okawara's 'Godzilla vs. Destoroyah' (1995) was released 30 years ago today in Japan! It brought to an end the Heisei cycle of Godzilla films that was started with Koji Hashimoto's 'The Return of Godzilla' (1984).

The baby orca scene fucked me up so bad as a kid.
This movie slaps hard. Imo still the best JAWS knock-off in a sea (lol) of pretty greats ones from the era - Piranha, Grizzly, Alligator...all aces. But Orca beats 'em all.
Orca (1977) Dir. Michael Anderson — What do you get when you cross Jawsploitation with a stone-cold killer whale, great actors, and a score that punches above its weight? you get a film that is Equal parts pulp mayhem and genuine heartbreak somehow both bonkers and moving. More than meets the eye🎞️📽️

Me when the Tarantino discourse has dragged out for far too long:

I mean...ALIEN, ALIENS, ALIEN 3, & even ALIEN RESURRECTION.
Ripley is truly one of the great characters of all time.
But gosh she wonderful in everything she's in. I adore her in GALAXY QUEST & HEARTBREAKERS. And GHOSTBUSTERS? Come on...
Her work as Kiri in AVATAR is stellar.
Name your fav Sigourney Weaver film.

God I just adore the miniature and matte work on ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK.

Oh come on! Just one?

The attention seeking part me wants to flex and pick an out of the box role, but it's TAXI DRIVER.
CAPE FEAR is a runner up, but it's TAXI DRIVER.
Name your fav Robert De Niro film.

With a body of work as stellar and as deep as his, picking one is impossible. But as of right now, it's gotta be CRIMSON TIDE.
MALCOLM X is probably the correct answer, but when Denzel is in action/thriller mode he's peak.
Name your fav Denzel Washington film.

Quentin Tarantino is a sloppy bitch who runs his mouth unprofessionally and doesn't hide his foot fetish. It's true. But pretending his movies suck is silly. You may not personally like them, but he's not a hack.

I also kind of miss the time when not everyone was media trained to death.

Movie you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (either War or Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.
