I love this film, and it gave me a great cinema memory. I took about 4 friends to see it one evening- by the end of the film, they had left to go to a restaurant across the street. I happily finished the film. Art is subjective.

Well, into the 70's as well- I mean the Million Dollar Duck was not going for edgy... That being said, as a kid I remember Escape from Witch Mountain disturbing me a bit....

Her acting is what made all the difference for this film....

Good to hear. I guess Disney was doing edgy before the early 80's

It's the film that started my support of films that did not do well or just went away- is it any wonder I was the annoying video store guy in the mid-80's with the odd recommendations.

It was really such a cool show. I loved it....

I've mentioned this before but I had been championing this film since I saw it at a sneak peak a few months before release in 1982. I was sure it was going to be a huge hit- sadly, a bit ahead of its time. I am so happy for the total reclamation since then.

At the end of the day, any business is only about profits. The personalities and non-music programming brought in more money- every time any product gets a little bit worse, I always look at who stands to profit. It's never the consumer.

It looks very good in both. Makes me wonder why the actors had to suffer so much for The Abyss???

I'd never even heard of this film- gads.. I hope Disney was on the correct side of history here.

Love this film- it seems a bit forgotten in time-

Plays amazingly well. Rewatched before I posted this. It is really fun with just the right balance of Soap Opera cheese and action to make it fun for all.

Was it really, I did not know this.

Three great films- well maybe 2 great films and then Happy Hooker. Inserts is criminally underseen these days.

Leviathan (1989) Dir. George P. Cosmatos – One of the many deep-sea creature features of the late 80s, this film rides the B-movie vibe with a corporate underwater crew facing a mysterious, deadly organism. Riding the Aliens wave but manages to forge its own path.  Claustrophobic and entertaining🎞️📽️

The Towering Inferno (1974) Dir. John Guillermin & Irwin Allen – Not that it needs reclamation, but it’s so fun I had to cover it. Skyscraper catches fire during opening gala; architects, firefighters, and guests fight for survival. Perfect 70s styling, I see you orange and brown. True spectacle 🎞️📽️🎬
