Big milestone for our lab!

My graduate student Emma Jong successfully defended her PhD! 🎉🌱

Her thesis work showcased exciting advances in overcoming species barriers and protecting fertility under heat stress.

Congratulations, Dr. Emma Jong!

The 500 additional GRFPs NSF awarded were not very evenly distributed across fields, it seems.

My lab had a strong Spring semester following an excellent Fall semester —my PhD students won best poster and oral presentation awards at both the unit and college levels, and we capped it off with their review article being accepted.

Instead of cuts we should look for ways to enhance university-federal government partnerships so research can thrive in the years ahead. Great explanatory video on “Facilities and Administrative costs” and what the proposed F and A cuts would mean for our nations research.
