Had a very simple menu, so not much of a #Plantsgiving tally––was notable only for having two different species of Vitis: vinifera and labrusca (Concord grape pie, so the "slip skin" trait is relevant!).
I think my #PlantsGiving tally is going to be almost entirely pie-driven. 🥧 🍎 🍋‍🟩 🍇 (plus wheat and sugarcane, natch).
Do you look at this and see at least 10 plant species? Then you are ready for #Plantsgiving 2025!

How many species will be served during your meal??? It ain't a competition, it's just about recognition.

Cafe Review: Milli by Metric
An experimental cafe space designed by the folks at Metric to serve coffee, in-house pastries, and eventually wine, Milli is a huge, gorgeous cafe space serving excellent coffee. The worst that can be...

Cryptic signals: substomatal architecture influences stomatal responses to red light and CO2
The mesophyll provides a critical signal for stomatal responses to red light (RL) and CO2 in angiosperms. By contrast, the stomatal response to blue light (BL) is largely guard cell-specific. It is .....

THREAD.

3 years ago, with no warning, a brilliant orange farm cat wandered over from the draughty barn where he had been living, in rural Cornwall, and decided he wanted to live with us instead.

We decided to call him Jim.

This is the first photo I took of him, on that night: December 1st, 2022.
