Catholic bishops around the world have earned reputations for speaking prophetically, with a courage to name exactly who and what is causing injustice and to put themselves in the streets with the people. The church knows how to respond to fascism and police states.

This from +Hebda is not enough. Clergy are in the streets being arrested in dozens. ICE is terrorizing people, especially immigrants, who make up the largest growth of Catholicism in the US. US bishops need to start reading about their fellow bishops in the South.

Been thinking a lot today about how like Dorothy Day and the Catholic Worker community would get themselves arrested during the Vietnam war, nuclear raid drills, or UFW protests

I’m concerned about our children being harmed, groomed, abused and wreck their mental health on social media.
I’m also concerned about lonely young people who are making real friendships and forming safe, wholesome, positive communities online, while learning about other people & places in the world

Based on Mary’s logic that baptism is abuse and a denial of human rights, why only restrict giving freedom of choice to babies and children, on just religious matters?
Why allow parents to impose any of their own beliefs, ideas, heritage, culture or values on their own children?
